Emerald City

Sometimes a great source can turn a routine story into something a lot more interesting. This is my first piece for the Chicago Tribune, about how a community rebuilds its after a nefarious bug has chewed down most of its trees.

Happy Britten-tennial!

One of my favorite parts about being a writer is having a completely legitimate excuse to talk with people at the very top of their fields. For my latest piece at Chicago Music, I interviewed members from the Orion Quartet and Wu Han, from the Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center! They’ll be in Millennium Park tomorrow night, and I highly recommend checking out their charming Benjamin Britten birthday concert if you’re in the Windy City.
